SC Customer Service Meister Examination

 

<What is SC Customer Service Meister?>

SC Customer Service Meister is a qualification system certified by Japan Council of Shopping Centers (JCSC). Designed to improve the status of staff members of tenants working in the SC industry, it is established in fiscal year 2015. To become a SC Customer Service Meister, the applicants basically have to participate in the SC Customer Service Role-Playing Contest Regional Convention hosted by JCSC to take the practical exam.

< Purpose>

  • To improve the status of staff members of tenants working in the SC industry
  • To improve the recognition of the SC industry through the acknowledged CS.
  • To develop an industry-wide evaluation criteria which is used for hiring, promotion and other employment decisions.

< Eligibility for Examination>

Staff members of tenants that have branch stores in shopping centers in Japan from all industries including sales, restaurant and service industry (including part-time and temporary workers) are eligible to apply for regional conventions. Not only the staff members working for JCSC member companies, but also ones working for non-JCSC member companies can take the examination.

< Content of the Examination>

The examination consists of two parts, practical and written exam. The written exam is held after practical exam results are declared.
Practical Exam: Candidates are required to participate in the SC Customer Service Role-Playing Contest Regional Convention and conduct a role-playing simulation.
Written Exam: Candidates are required to answer exercise questions and write an essay.
Exemption Subject: Candidates who attained the equivalent of level 1 at a practical exam are exempt from taking a written examination.
Cost: Examination fee of ¥ 5,400 (including tax) and accreditation fee of \5,400 (including tax)

 

<Level>

Level 1

National Convention contestants chosen to represent their region and those who are comparable to them.
Individuals who can deliver satisfaction and impression to customers through their customer service and can set a great example of customer service.
Specifically, individuals whose total score at the SC Customer Service Role-Playing Contest Regional Convention given by two expert judges is 80% or more of the full marks.

Level 2

Individuals who can deliver satisfaction to customers through their customer service and provide highly-specialized customer service.
Specifically, individuals whose total score at the SC Customer Service Role-Playing Contest Regional Convention given by two expert judges is at least 75% and under 80% of the full marks.

Level 3

Individuals who have mastered the fundamentals of customer service.
Individuals who can provide information on the surrounding area as well as information on its own store through their customer service.
Specifically, individuals whose total score at the SC Customer Service Role-Playing Contest Regional Convention given by two expert judges is at least 60% and under 75% of the full marks.
